Latest developments

The Kenyan government has decided last month that schools will remain closed until the end of 2020. This is a heavy blow for us. The children have to stay at home and will not be able to receive any formal education for a long time, as online schooling is absolutely impossible under these conditions. Additionally, we are now unable to pay the teachers' salaries. We are facing several challenging issues. We have decided to continue with our construction plans and aim to have the new classrooms ready for the school opening in 2021.

In the last report, you saw the first classroom of the new building. This week, we have begun work on the roof of the second classroom. We are progressing incredibly quickly. During the lockdown period, we were fortunate to receive financial support from kind-hearted individuals despite the challenging circumstances, which enabled us to continue with the construction. However, to fulfill all our plans, we still rely on donations.

Watertank
In addition to the construction of the new classrooms, we have installed a water tank. This required us to build a stable base for the tank. It is the first time in our history that we have running water. This is a significant step towards our goal. In times of dangerous infectious diseases, clean water is becoming increasingly important.

I plan to fly to Kenya in December to see the progress on-site in person. Until then, I would greatly appreciate numerous donations of clothes, school supplies, shoes, and further financial support.
