Harrison Nyundo
Founder and Head of Harrison's Primary School
Together with my wife Grace, I run Harrisons Primary School. It has always been my dream to teach children, to teach them something and to give them a better future. That's why I opened our own school together with Grace in 2014. The area around the school is very poor and many children would otherwise not have the opportunity to go to school. Before the school opened, most of them hung around on the beach looking for crabs for their meals. When we sat down with the people in charge of the village and looked for a solution, we decided to create a structure according to our possibilities. So we started serving meals to the children and setting up a school. My wife and I taught the children as we did not yet have the money for proper teachers. We started with 5 pupils, today there are over 200 and in recent years we have employed more and more well-trained teachers. My vision is to create an education center that has a positive and transformative impact on the community.

Eleanor Atieno
Social worker
I'm working at Harrison?s Primary School since April 2024. My responsibility is to give support to the sponsored children in school, giving moral, emotional and psychological support to the young girls who dropped out of school due to lack of school fees or maybe are totally orphans. I also have a responsibility of bridging the school and the community and vise versa. My passion of helping the vulnerable is one reason I’m inspired to become a social worker. My vision is to see children have the opportunity thrive to their full potential. I also desire to see children actively participating in their own lives and get involved in the decision making processes. To also see collaboration of families, community and school to support children. My vision is to see the children overcome mental health issues which affects their whole health and education process too. “If we can have a healthy child, healthy environment, then knowledge cannot be a mountain to climb and in the long run, we will have a successful community”

Guest relations manager
When I heard about Harrison's project, I couldn't hesitate for a second to support him. We grew up together in the same village in Kilifi and his father always looked after me. I am responsible for all tours and visits to the school. I also work full-time as a safari guide. You therefore also have the opportunity to book larger excursions with us and thus donate something to the school. Because a large part of the price goes directly to the school. This gives us an additional source of income for the school. I organize safaris and excursions throughout Kenya and Tanzania.
