Last week we started an appeal to raise CHF 300. We needed the money to pay the roofing bill. In Kenya everything works with payment in advance. In a very short time we collected the money we needed and were able to pay the building contractor. At this point I want to express my gratitude to the donators again! Thank you very much. Thanks to each and everyone of you who helped us out with a donation to this important and wonderful project. It does not just mean a lot to me but also to students, teachers, parents and the whole community behind it.
We have already been able to complete a large part of the work. The most important thing was to build a stable frame, so we will not get any problem with the roof later on. The roof truss is made of wood and will be covered by corrugated iron roof plates. This will hopefully keep everyone dry and the house itself stable during the rain seasons that occur twice a year.
Looking at the pictures, you can follow the process of the roofing step by step. Six workers were working on the roofing and it was very important for us to use the best material available for the roof.
In the end, we want it to last for as many years as possible.
